Fdaf is a young association sponsored by the most eminent French speaking astrologers. Andre Barbault, Jacques Berthon, Ferdinand David, Alexander Ruperti, Robert Tinder and Suzel Fuzeau-Braesch encouraged it at its very birth in 1996. Today, it brings together over 500 members of which the half are professional astrologers.
Fdaf has as an ambition to gather the professionals who practise regularly astrology in various sectors, amateurs of astrology and a public increasingly more numerous, in search of quality education on what is and what is not astrology, on what it can be expected, who to consult. It also creates bridges with the other professionals, experts in social sciences, education, psychologists, doctors, journalists, all willing to better know astrology or to improve their opinion about its methods and its utility.
One of the Fdaf mission is information, in particular towards general public on the role of astrology and the great principles of its practice. For that, it publishes a quarterly review and an Internet site http://www.fdaf.org to which the best French speaking astrologers collaborate in a spirit of freedom and tolerance. It organizes each year the Astrology Day in March with demonstrations, communications in schools and bookshops, conferences in all the largest towns of France. It also maintains special relationships with the media.
Fdaf promotes an astrology of quality, in its principles, its teaching and counsels. It publishes a guide of the best astrologers and teachers who all subscribe to the Fdaf code of ethics. It aims to defend the profession, in particular while maintaining regular contacts with the authorities to work out an astrologer’s statute and professional chart.
